One Soldier Found, One Still Missing

Private Gregory Morales was last seen driving his 2018 black KIA Rio outside of the army post on Aug. 19, 2019.  His remains were found yesterday, in a field off post. There is an ongoing investigation into his death. 

The kid was due to get out of the army in a few days. That alone was reason enough not to go AWOL. There is an ongoing investigation into the cause of death.  

That leaves one soldier still missing, PFC Vanessa Guillen.

The commander of Third Cavalry has also launched an investigation into sexual harassment allegations made by her family.

According to the Colonel, he takes such allegations very seriously.

Sorry, sir,  you are day late and a dollar short. Its two months after her disappearance and you still don't know what happened. Since I'm a civilian now, sir, let me be the first to tell you all you are doing is pissing in the wind.

You want to find your man, you need to listen to the old Swampwitch because she's going to give you a profile.

He's going to be mid to late thirties, and E6 0r E7, although I really wouldn't rule out early forties and a very senior NCO. What you should be looking for is a lifer. One who talks a good game and doesn't do very much of anything. He will not be considered good looking, yet he will have a very high opinion of himself and his sexual prowess, which he will mention at any given time. He will stay just this side of misconduct towards female soldiers, and when they dare to complain, he will swear the women instigated it to make him look bad and sabotage his career.  He will lie when the truth will save him. He will be the type who at Monday morning PT formation will instruct the women to PT extra hard to dislodge any unwanted fetus they may have picked up over the weekend. He will want to know the intimate details of every woman in the battalion's private life, including how to contact them at all times. When being deployed overseas he will say things like 'the only reason the Army sends chicks overseas is to keep our guys away from the locals'.  He will be married, with kids, and most likely nearing retirement. His depend will cover for him in everything he does, as the one thing a dependo fears above all else if having to get a job. If threatened, she may even resort to helping him conceal his crime, as all pensions disappear when that bad paper comes down. He is in her chain of command. He will be easy to find. He'll be the one about to shit his pants in fear he's going to get caught this time. 

While you're at it, you may want to find out where Private Gregory Morales' dependo was when he disappeared. 

Yes, I'm down on dependos. When I went in every last one of them thought we were all a bunch of lesbians who enlisted just to sleep with their husbands. Go figure.

Here's the thing that's really bothering me more than anything else. I asked a friend, retired NCO if he knew anything about the case. He didn't, as it obviously has been knocked off the news cycle by riots, fires, plagues, and that moron in the Oval Office. Give him a brief synopsis of what happened and he says. "Is it possible she just got tired of it and decide to leave. Hooked up with some young GI and just decided to leave". 

This came from someone I thought would be sympathetic. Then again, male soldiers don't have to deal with the same bullshit women soldiers do.  It also makes me think that no matter how much things change, they still remain the same.

And we are in the middle of damned Mercury retrograde in Cancer meaning I need to stop here or else I could very well have CID on my doorstep, as I'm still not sure how the military feels about the statute of limitations....
